This interactive course will look at the challenges and opportunities of middle leadership, as well as the importance and effectiveness of your role within your school context. There will be opportunities throughout the day to network and work with other middle leaders.|

This course is aimed at middle leaders and this course aims to achieve the following: consider the different roles and responsibilities of middle leaders; explore and understand relationships and the upwards and downwards method of communication; identify the challenges of the role and devise solutions to address these; understand the importance of culture and how it can be influenced; and look at managing workload and having a work-life balance

This course is run by Sue Sayles who was a primary teacher for 30 years, a head teacher for 21 years and is a past president of NAHT. In her role as a head teacher, she helped to develop six head teachers from within her own staff.
