Learning outcomes for participants/users and, where relevant, pupils or students

This introductory level workshop will show you how you can make use of Google Apps for Education to increase collaboration and encouraging effective communication within your classroom and school.  After the workshop, you will be in a strong position to use the Google Apps for Education suite confidently and practise what you have learnt prior to moving to other courses on the program, if you wish to become a Google Educator. No prior level of knowledge of Google Apps will be assumed, although you may have been making use of some elements of the Google Apps for Education suite in your classroom or school already.

Evidence underpinning this approach

Around the world more than 30 Million teachers & students use Google Apps for Education because it is a set of intuitive, web based tools that support learning across all disciplines and ages. In the UK, C-Learning have delivered training to more than 500 teachers to help them both learn more about what this means for their school and, if already using Google Apps, qualify to become a Google Educator.

How users/participants can evaluate success

The evaluation of the course is done on the day through a Google Form. The measurement of impact in schools will be dictated by the group driving the change. There are some tools within GAFE that allow you to measure usage of the differnet apps but measurement of impact on learning is something that the school will already have in place through other systems.

Follow-up activities and support

If this is the first step in a move to a more cloud-bsed infrastructure in your institution, C-Learning will work with you to develop a comprehensive series of training opportunities to develop the expertise of your staff. Contact Paul Farrell for more information.
