Evidence underpinning this approach

The Nurturing Programme is schools is an evidence-based programme for supporting the emotional health of children, teachers and parents. Our work with trainee teachers suggests a significant increase in self-reported confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour, giving constructive feedback and implementing effective systems for praise and rewards. Evidence from our training directly with schools also suggests that Nurturing Programme strategies are readily adopted and have a significant impact on pupil behaviour, pupils' social and emotionaldevelopment and teacher wellbeing.
