Learning outcomes for participants/users and, where relevant, pupils or students

At the end of this two day workshop, participants will have developed skills in enquiry-based learning and teaching so that their students can benefit from the following:

  • Independent thinking
  • Speaking and listening
  • English and maths
  • Collaboration

Suitable for all SLT, teachers and support staff for EYFS to Year 13

Evidence underpinning this approach

askit was developed from the well known and highly respected Philosophy for Children (P4C) programme, which studies show improves a wide range of learning outcomes, from behaviour and collaboration to reading, writing and maths, across a broad age range.  It aims to build 'Communities of Enquiry' where pupils develop the 'Four Cs' - creative, critical, caring and collaborative thinking skills.

How users/participants can evaluate success

The askit approach equips children with the ability to explore options and to make decisions more effectively as part of a team.  It engages children with their learning and through exploring concepts important to their lives and the way they lead them, helps to improve creative, critical, caring and collaborative thinking.
