|Description||The Average Capped Points Score will remain as one of the two headline figures for Secondary School Performance until 2017, following the Review of Qualifications 14-19, which was published in November. Having an impact on this important measure presents a different challenge to previous measures, where particular thresholds were involved. Every child matters and this requires an approach which ensures every student can be the best they can be. Our meeting will explore how the Average Capped Point Score is used in School Banding calculations and delegates will get to grips with residuals, contextual value added and relative progress measures.|

Assertive Mentoring has an academic focus as opposed to pastoral counselling. It uses contextualised data which is detailed, reliable and reflects historic trends. Crucial to the effectiveness of the mentoring is its assertiveness. This meeting will detail how such a system can be implemented into any Secondary school.
This meeting has run successfully this year in Cardiff and Swansea and we are now extending the opportunity to North Wales.
Possible delegates include Senior Leaders who may have responsibility and the authority to implement such a system. However, the tracking and mentoring techniques and acquiring an understanding of the calculations involved in the Average Capped Point Score make this meeting ideal for Heads of Learning in Years 10 and 11 as they manage the tracking in this difficult area.
