Learning outcomes for participants/users and, where relevant, pupils or students

Aims for this conference:

  • To set the context of boys’ underachievement
  • To explore the barriers to boys’ achievement including issues around independence, language development, literacy, peer pressure, emotional intelligence, teacher expectations, the lack of positive male role models
  • To explore tried and tested strategies for breaking them down in ways that are not detrimental to the learning of girls
  • To help raise teacher expectations and pupil aspirations and develop decent young men
Evidence underpinning this approach

Many boys across the developed world underachieve in many ways. This situation has remained unchanged for many, many years, but fails to receive the attention it deserves. This conference sets out to explain exactly why this is, and promotes effective, tried and tested strategies for turning this around in schools and at the same time turning out decent young men, to the benefit of all.

How users/participants can evaluate success

We will provide full evaluation forms - both in print and online - for all delegates at all INK Conferences.
