Learning outcomes for participants/users and, where relevant, pupils or students

Aims for the conference:

  • To provide a structure for supporting character development in schools
  • To show how to create the right learning conditions that will support, rather than hinder, character development
  • To demonstrate how teachers can model the character traits and attitudes they seek in pupils
  • To share strategies for observing and reporting on pupils’ character development
Evidence underpinning this approach

Character development can and should be supported in school – every teacher knows this, but the formal teaching classroom may not always seem conducive to natural character growth. This course will share practical strategies on how to develop children’s performance character traits at the same time as increasing engagement in learning and raising academic standards. This conference will coincide with the launch of Andrew’s new book, Teaching for Character, the first in the Invisible INK series, published by John Catt Educational.

How users/participants can evaluate success

We will provide full evaluation forms - both in print and online - for all delegates at all INK Conferences.

Follow-up activities and support
