Description Come and join us and several other local schools at a FREE ‘pop up’ event at Aedas in Birmingham on 18th October, Class of Your Own and Aedas are inviting school leaders, curriculum managers and D&T teachers to come along to an impressive architectural venue, have a cup of coffee, explore the new Design Engineer Construct! curriculum and discover what our industry is all about. There will be 2 formal presentations at 8.00 a.m. and 10.a.m. thereafter it is on a drop in arrangement but places will need to be booked. The built environment sector needs motivated teachers to inspire the next generation of highly skilled individuals and Design Engineer Construct! is already being taught in schools across the country.

Come along and discover an exciting new curriculum for secondary schools – all learners, all abilities. Design Engineer Construct! is the most innovative, challenging and relevant curriculum development in recent years. Based around Building Information Modelling (BIM) Design, Engineer, Construct!  is unique in that it:

  • has been developed by built environment professionals and trialled in schools
  • is a complete curriculum that can be delivered in blocks or as complete 60/90/120/160 glh programmes of study.
  • can be assessed unit by unit and can be moderated to meet ITQ level 2 criteria earning 46 league table points.
  • is suitable for delivery to learners in any key stage
  • fits any shape timetable
  • is project based learning that is inclusive and engaging for all learners
  • is a pathway to a professional career in the built environment
  • gives industry standard qualifications to teachers and learners

Held in the prestigious offices of international architecture and design consultancy Aedas there will be two formal presentations at 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. with other times available on an individual surgery style arrangement. Places are strictly limited so pre-booking is required although there is no charge for the event. Attendees should set aside 2 hours in order to learn all about the curriulum and the integrated and accredited cpd.  Aedas are just one of many sector employers who are keen to support schools delivering this programme.
