|
Evidence underpinning this approach | Recent inspection evidence from Ofsted has identified that in successful schools pupils who achieve well in mathematics have a broad curriculum where mathematical problem solving and reasoning underpins pupils learning. This conference will explore approaches to teacing calculations that builds on problem solving and reasoning. The key note speaker, Ian Thompson, will be sharing research evidence from the Netherlands and his own to explore efficient and effective strategies that pupils use when solving numerical problems. |
How users/participants can evaluate success | Participants will be asked to complete a 10-10-10 impact tool at the end of the event to record 3 things that they can take away with them to implement in 10 days, 10 weeks and 10 months. Participants will complete an evaluation form to be returned to SMaR+. SMaR+ will contact the participants in 6 weeks to complete an online surverymonkey tool. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JWJX5DX |
