Thumb Creative PSHE CPD - Teaching through Art Course
as creatives

Teaching PSHE can be tough. It’s important to engage students with this vitally important part of the curriculum – but it’s difficult to plan when you have a full teaching load and your PPA time is taken up with marking, monitoring and report writing. But it can be done! So on Tuesday 20th October 2015 we are inviting teachers to an interactive CPD Day exploring ways of using the arts and creative approaches to teach a range of aspects of PSHE.

Stated learning outcomes for this course

Ideal for non-specialist and PSHE co-ordinators, trying to reinvigorate their delivery of this subject, or those new to role, PHSE through Art offers:

  • An outline for a full project, easy to use, adapt and/or develop, appropriate to your school context.
  • Exploration of practical techniques and methods, meaning non-specialists will feel confident in delivering / leading.
  • Extension and variety, with suggestions for building on the project and alternate themes/ artists that can be introduced, so the project can be repeated over several years.
  • Costs, budgets, suppliers etc – giving you everything you’ll need to know when you approach Senior Leadership!
  • A creative consultant – Amanda will provide ongoing email contact throughout your first delivery, so you have someone on hand to offer support and advice, where needed.
