Coaching young, and less able, cricketers can be a challenge for inexperienced coaches. Pupils often have a legacy of expectation that cricket is boring, or a background of failure that needs to be overcome. This course presents the game as a fast moving and exciting experience, by focusing on engagement and activity, and shows how all pupils can experience success. Coaches will be introduced to modern techniques of batting, bowling and fielding, together with innovative ways of practising them. The laws of the game, and basics of umpiring will be covered, preparing teachers to officiate confidently in school matches and practices.
