Description This course will address key issues which will have an impact on raising attainment in writing. It will develop participants’ understanding of the expectations for writing in the new National Curriculum. It will focus on: • Raising expectations for the teaching of grammar and how to apply this learning into writing whole narratives • How to improve basic writing skills within a creative and engaging context • How to use a quality text to impact upon basic skills and creative writing • Progression in narrative – how to build on learning across the year and across a key stage. Delegates will be provided with a free copy of the key children’s book used on the course, PowerPoint hand-out, a CD of resources, refreshments and a buffet lunch.
