Description The course will cover: Are you a practitioner of D&T? Are you planning your DT curriculum for next year and feel you need some alternative ideas or approaches to freshen your delivery? Do you want your students to be more creative in your classroom? Would you value tips and tricks for engaging activities that you can include inside your D&T toolbox? The KS3 D&T curriculum and new Design and Technology GCSE offer a wide range of new and exciting opportunities to better prepare our students for the future. It will also breathe new life into our subject. This course will set you on your way to developing a more creative ethos within your classroom. The day will focus on how you can introduce fun and engaging activities that will help students to think more creatively whilst consolidating core knowledge. It will also provide opportunities to look at DT in the wider context and how activities can be set up to focus on everyday scenarios that require problem solving and design thinking.

The course will be delivered by Dave Bausor.

Dave has been teaching for just over 20 years and is currently a lead practitioner and SLE for D&T at Ely College Academy in Cambridgeshire which is a member of the CMAT trust. He also has worked in roles including head of faculty and advanced skilled teacher (AST). He co-chairs the Cambridgeshire Design & Technology Network group and has a DT Facebook group namely TopBrumD&T. He is a regular contributor to other FB groups and is looking forward to working with DATA in support of DT as part of his SLE role in the future.
