Description This course will be based on the new National Curriculum and will provide opportunities for you to consider the benefits of using iPads to support teaching and learning in English. Approaches will be exemplified to help you plan engaging lessons for writing, reading comprehension and speaking and listening. Whilst there are a myriad of apps in the market place, we will help you consider a few that could work effectively in the classroom. You will also consider how iPads can support progress in English. You will experiment with video and sound to enhance and improve writing outcomes through mediums such as narrative and poetry. By the end of the course you will be returning to the classroom ready to inspire and engage even the most reluctant pupils. iPads will be provided for delegates to use during the course. You might also be interested to attend the mathematics iPad training which takes place on the same day (15MAT/009P). If both courses are attended, lunch will be provided.
