Description | Getting boys engaged in, and stimulated by, English lessons and literacy can be challenging for teachers. With literacy as a key focus of the new inspection framework from January 2012, teachers of English need to ensure that all groups of students are achieving as well as each other. This includes the progress and engagement of boys. This course will examine some of the issues behind boys’ underachievement in both English and literacy and will provide practical strategies for teachers to enable boys to become confident, aspirational learners who will think “English lessons are cool”. |
