By becoming a member you can attend CPD and purchase teaching resources at a greatly reduced rate. • Would you value tips and tricks for engaging students and improving results at GCSE and Advanced Level? • Do you want your students to be more creative and successful in your classroom? The day will focus on how you can improve GCSE results in D&T while engaging students in practical and inspiring activities, helping them to realise their full potential. This course will help you develop a more creative, coherent and successful subject area within your department. The KS3 D&T curriculum and new Design and Technology GCSE offer a wide range of new and exciting opportunities to better prepare our students for the future. It will also breathe new life into our subject. Content includes: • Working with a five-year plan for progress • Progress and attainment 8 tracking • Ticking the boxes, missing nothing! - ensuring students do everything necessary to gain the highest possible marks. It’s the marks that will get the grade...or level! • Project management • Student led success • Projects, products and prototypes • Using time effectively What to expect: • Hands on activities to help improve results • Ideas to help students take ownership of their own success • Opportunity to share ideas. • A full set of supporting resources to use in your department The course will be delivered by Paul Woodward Paul has been a teacher of Design and Technology for 24 years and more recently returned to work in industry as Head of Design for the manufacturer of luxury Motorhomes. An accomplished designer and illustrator who has used CAD professionally throughout his career, Paul is also a prolific author having penned over 60 Subject Genius Blogs for the TES, which were shortlisted in the TES 2016 awards, and over 30 illustrated children's books. His work as an RMT examiner and moderator for the AQA further reinforces his subject knowledge. He has worked in a wide range of schools and has a history of successful results as a Head of Faculty and Head of Department with a portfolio of diverse and innovative project work. He is a regular contributor to FB groups and is looking forward to working with DATA in support of D&T in the future.
