Description Designed for those with little or no experience, this course shows you how to unlock the unique capabilities of the iPad, introduces you to some of the best apps for education, and shows how the device really comes into its own in the area of digital storytelling. It's an ideal primer if you've invested in iPads and are wondering how best to use them. The training has been put together with primary schools in mind, but secondary teachers are welcome too.

Part One - Morning: Learn the basics of the iPad

  • Contol panels and options
  • Preparation and configuring your home screens
  • Speech selection
  • Apply the karaoke effect to highlight words as text is spoken in Safari or iBooks
  • Create folders on the home screen and albums in your photo gallery
  • Bookmark or save pages in Safari to read later or add a web page to the home screen for your students to access during a lesson
  • iPad Pedagogy

Part Two - Afternoon: Tell a story

  • Pie-Corbett meets the iPad
  • Use Camera to take photographs
  • Save images from Safari to Camera Roll
  • Create a background track and sound effects in GarageBand
  • Create an iMovie presentation
  • Save your story to the Camera Roll
  • Options for sharing your movie
  • Applying digital storytelling across all subjects
