|Description||An APC is a requirement for those undertaking assessments for the purpose of a Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) also recommended that teacher assessors carrying out assessments for Examination Access Arrangements should be APC holders. Many school and college employers also now require their specialist teaching or support staff to obtain an APC.|

Assessment Practising Certificate: New guidelines from the DfE and SASC
The Department for Education has changed its evidence requirements for applications for the Disabled Student’s Allowance (DSA; for higher education students). Dyslexia/SpLD Reports undertaken at any age will now be accepted for the purposes of a DSA. Please note that Form 8 Access Arrangement Reports are not acceptable as these are not full assessment reports.
