We will consider approaches to project planning and students’ critical thinking and look at ways to raise student performance standards.|

Participants will take part in a pattern, collage and drawing task; produce a piece of work to take back to school; look at approaches to research and critical studies using pattern, architecture and portrait themes;take away a CD of ideas for the classroom, including guidance on using different techniques, materials and processes for two and three dimensional work; discuss ways of discovering students’ art experience and prior learning.

Tony Jackson is a practising artist and an independent visual arts education consultant. With over 36 years’ teaching experience, he led one of the country’s top visual arts colleges where his teaching was identified by OFSTED as outstanding. Tony is a member of the NSEAD curriculum board and his mantra is, ‘Practice What You Teach’.
