Description This course will support Literacy Subject Leads on how to raise attainment in reading and writing and on how to address issues raised by the new National Curriculum. The course will provide Literacy Subject Leads with the tools and strategies to identify and develop the specific issues regarding the teaching and learning of reading and writing in their own school. It will support them with key actions including audit, action planning, monitoring and evaluation. Subject Leads will be supported to develop their own subject knowledge and understanding of how children learn to read and write so that they can, in turn, support colleagues back in school. This course is a three day course with gap tasks between the sessions which delegates will be required to complete in order to participate fully in the course. Delegates will be given hand-outs, CD of resources, refreshments, buffet lunch.
