Description The Postgraduate Certificate in Structured Teaching (accredited by Middlesex University) in Dyslexia and Literacy is a unique online qualification designed for teachers and support teachers who wish to train as specialist teachers in Dyslexia and Literacy. The aim of the Postgraduate programme is to train teachers to be informed, skilled practitioners who understand the theory and practice of teaching of learners with dyslexia of all ages. The programme offers a flexible approach to postgraduate study with online courses and personalised tutor support.

What can I expect from the Certificate?

  • The Certificate course is the pathway to qualification as a specialist teacher of dyslexia/SpLD 
  • The course comprises three modules (A, B and C) which explore current research in dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties; the principles and practice of the psychometric assessment process and the theoretical framework that informs the effective support of learners with dyslexia and/or other literacy difficulties
  • Practitioners train using the Dyslexia Action Literacy Programme (DALP)
  • Middlesex University Accredited - 20 credits per module
  • BDA: British Dyslexia Association Approved Teacher Status (ATS or ATS FE/HE) or Approved Practitioner Status (APS) on completion of all the teaching requirements
