This workshop will gently take you through a mix of songs and activities to encourage children’s active participation. Tango with a Mango, stomp with dinosaurs, and build roads with the diggers and pavers. Songs in the workshop promote laterality and independent movement of each side of the body. Develop balance and movement in activities appropriate for young children. We encourage children to cross mid-lines and in doing so, we are helping them access both sides of their brains, which is important for school work. Think about what is required in order for a child to write a story. He needs to have imagination and visualisation which are right brain functions, but he also needs the vocabulary and understanding of spelling to be able to write the story down. His left and right brain must work together. By building connections through physical movement we help integrate those brain areas to give your child greater success in school.
The learning is not all physical. Songs to teach colour, numbers, fine motor skills, Positional language as well as working with partners, supporting each other and learning to share encouraging child led activities exploring creativity & imagination.
