Description This unique opportunity offers a practical day for school leaders, teachers and learning support staff to learn how to support emotional health and resilience in students, through the powerful mind management model that has helped support the success of British Cycling Teams and other Team GB sports. The Chimp Management team are passionate about making a difference by helping people live happy and successful lives. This involves sharing insight into how the mind works in reality, and not how most of us think it works. By understanding themselves better, we believe that people have a greater opportunity to get the best out of themselves and others. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. Evidence underpinning this approach

"I think it is an amazing concept, it is fantastic hook for the students, they can really relate to it, the model allows you to go at the speed of the student and the results are very evident. There are elements of the model that have helped me personally and I have embedded in my life."

Teacher, Dewsbury

"It helps you explore yourself, like in no other way, it has helped me to get through tough situations, I really enjoy it."

Understanding the Developing Mind

Two parallel seminars will run designed to provide an opportunity to explore the application of the Chimp Model specifically with either Primary or Secondary aged students*. The seminars will outline key features of the developmental process that impact emotion and behaviour, and the reality of the capacities of children and young people to manage these effectively.

Getting Practical Workshops:

You will be able to select two workshops which aim to put theory into practice by providing activities, tools and resources for teachers

to work through the model with students. Each of the workshops will be practically taught in interactive group, small group and pair work, and will enable teachers to ‘have a go’ with ideas of how to introduce, run and debrief different activities.

Workshop 1:

A hands-on workshop which explores the concept of resilience, and how to support students in dealing with stress and adversity.

Workshop 2:

Perceptions of self

A workshop that explores factors that impact confidence, success and happiness. This session

will focus on how students see themselves, in regards to self- image, self-worth, self-esteem and self-          confidence.
