Description It is on the earliest days of the school year and the first moments of each class, that classrooms establish the routines and norms of classroom life. This is referred to as the ‘Establishment Phase’ (Rogers 2006). Developing an ethos of positive behaviour in the classroom is fundamental to maximising pupil performance, minimising disruptive behaviour and nurturing positive pupil-teacher relationships. During this course, you will explore ideas for implementing a policy for positive behaviour in the classroom and develop a range of strategies and techniques you can put into action to make the best possible start to the autumn term.
