Evidence underpinning this approach

Psychological theory, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction all form a basis for this course. The trainer is highly qualified and experienced in the area of personal development and believes in supporting individuals by working on strategies they can use in and beyond the course. Personal development leads to enhanced Professional Performance especially in the classroom, because managing stress and being able to motivate yourself and others is essential when things become challenging.

How users/participants can evaluate success

Surviving the NQT year might sound a little dramatic, but that is how it can feel at times. This course aims to take delegates out of survival mode into a place where they can excel and thrive during their first teaching year. A sign of success will be partly subjective, based on how the delegate feels ther ability to cope has been enhanced. But whether NQTs choose to stay in the profession or at the school where they feel they have recieved support is also quite poignant.

Follow-up activities and support

The course provides the opportunity to meet other NQTs from different schools and therefore allows for professional relationships to develop and support the concepts covered in the workshop.

Followup workshops are also available from Newset Training as INSET.
