Description Becoming a Sixth Form or FE student rather than a school pupil is difficult because students don’t always comprehend the expectations of staff, families and other students. Preparation for employment is not high on the agenda for school Sixth form teachers and tutors. This course will suggest strategies that can be adopted to ensure a supportive but academically challenging environment. Course delegates will be expected to set their own targets for action when they return to their schools. This course will show the importance of preparation and address issues such as part time work, not liking their teachers, liking their teachers too much, doing work outside the classroom, looking forward, taking responsibility, getting on with each other, pressures from home and financial worries.
