Description This day will be full of practical activities for teaching reading comprehension from Year 1 to 6 in line with the new curriculum. The new curriculum statements contain very little progression guidance across Years 3/4 and 5/6. Delegates will be provided with materials to support clarity of pitch and progression, guidance on appropriate texts for shared reading, together with year group specific booklists. You will explore the importance of consistency in approaches to teaching key skills across the whole school and activities will be exemplified at a range of ability levels.
