|Duration||9am - 3pm|
|Categories||Secondary, Teaching and Learning, Languages, Out of school|
|Learning outcomes for participants/users and, where relevant, pupils or students||
Are you feeling ready to deliver the new Edexcel Russian A level? You will do by the end of this one-day course! After a general overview of the new A-level, we will look at each unit in detail and work through teaching resources which have been prepared with this exact specification in mind and which cover the new topic areas and choices of literature and film. We will explore exactly what is being asked of students and how to plan out a scheme of work to deliver an intellectually stimulating yet accessible two-year course.
This course is aimed at all teachers of Russian A-level. Our main focus will be to explore the four new themes (which are still to be confirmed by Edexcel) which form the basis of the listening, reading, translation into English and speaking elements of the final examination. We will also look at strategies for the independent research element of the speaking examination and explore how best to teach the set works of literature and film while ensuring that students develop a sound understanding of Russian culture, history and society.
