Description Aimed at Primary ICT Leaders, the programme provides a blended, tutor-led course covering all aspects of Computing within a school. All modules provide discussion and debate coupled with directed tasks (such as reading / analysis / self reflection / written work and school-based activities).

The course will provide high quality training and support for current and aspiring Computing leaders in Primary schools and existing leaders who wish to have a recognised qualification. It has been carefully designed to raise standards of pupils’ attainment in and through ICT by improving the standards of leadership of Computing in schools. Based around the Naace ICT Self-review Framework it:
•    Is geared to enabling whole school improvement through Computing
•    Offers a flexible, blended learning approach
•    Can be completed over 6 months.

The course will open with an online session - and from there on use a blended learning approach, involving tutor input and student involvement both face to face (via video conferencing plus flexible times for individual discussions to suit you) and online including:
•    Online meetings
•    Moderated online discussions
•    Email contact with the course tutor
•    Online self-study
•    Reading
•    Directed tasks

On completion of the course delegates will be able to:
•    Review Computing provision and use throughout the school
•    Create a Computing development plan
•    Understand  assessment, data analysis and parental engagement
•    Plan and implement learning and teaching of and with Computing across the school, including online learning
•    Develop and implement assessment procedures for Computing in the school
•    Audit the Computing CPD needs of all staff and plan an appropriate CPD strategy
•    Review infrastructure and digital resources and make recommendations for future development.
