Description This twilight session will be delivered by the D&T Association and Renishaw employees. The course accompanies the FREE Skills Gap Programme resources which can be found and downloaded at www.skillsgapprogramme.org.uk . Aims of the course: Renishaw plc is a precision engineering company. The session provides industry context for teaching KS3 programmable components, computer programming and embedding intelligence in products using an industry standard microcontroller called RenBed. Course content: This is a practical session for D&T teachers who have no or limited experience of computer programming and programmable components. There will be step-by-step support so that you leave the session feeling you can program RenBed and make a robot buggy move. There will be opportunities to discuss how you would approach the project in your own school. Four schools will also have the opportunity to take part in a Renishaw employee supported programme back at their school. Please let us know on the day if you wish to take part during 2015.
