  • interpret the new UK physical activity guidelines;
  • design and select content and pedagogy that is appropriate and relevant for promoting learning about healthy active lifestyles;
  • consider the relevance and importance of developing young people’s personal learning and thinking skills.
Evidence underpinning this approach

All courses meet the recommnedations of the latest UK Physical Activity GUidleines (2011) and those of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Science, for young people.

On completion of the course, delegates will be given free membership of the Learning about Healthy Active Lifestyles website, where they can obtain additional resources and training, and collaborate with other members through the forum.

Details

The course is largely practical in nature. Delegates will be asked to work in groups giving discussion and feedback.

This is a one day course (9am - 4.30 pm).

The course is delivered by two tutors.
