Description Keeping children and young people safe online and teaching them about the appropriate and responsible use of the internet is an essential part of a school’s safeguarding role. The proliferation of mobile devices over recent years means most children are online at home for an increasing amount of time, often in their rooms and away from any form of supervision. It’s therefore never been more important that they are taught how to keep themselves safe from the risks that exist online. Section 5 of the Ofsted Framework from September 2014 states that inspectors will include e-safety in their discussions with pupils and what measures the school takes to promote safe use and combat unsafe use, both proactively and reactively. This course, aimed at eSafety coordinators, DSPs, SLT members and classroom teachers, looks at what schools need to do to in order to make eSafety a priority across all areas of the school.
