Stated learning outcomes for this course

This is a two part programme, which will provide practical tools to assist teachers to promote equality and tackle discrimination. By engaging with this training schools can reduce prejudice-related incidents; improve behaviour and safety and pupil attainment; and ensure that they are meeting their legal duties to eliminate discrimination, promote equality and foster good relations.

This course provides an opportunity for delegates to raise concerns in a non-judgemental and supportive environment and will provide teachers with knowledge and practical ideas which can be implemented back in the school. After attending this course, participants will understand the requirements set out under the Equality Act 2010 and Ofsted Framework 2013 and will be equipped with skills and knowledge to embed equality throughout the school policies, practices and curriculum.

In the second part of this training, which will take place in spring 2015, participants will have the opportunity to share good practice and highlight problem areas uncovered since the previous training day.
