Description By the end of this course delegates will have made links to the three strands of the course: Performance, Choreography and Appreciation/analysis. They will have an understanding of the different criteria for the practical assessments for performance in the moderation. Delegates will have extended their understanding of the assessment demands and how to manage the external moderation visit. They will have developed a range of practical choreographic approaches to exam papers taking the examination criteria into full account.

Aims of the course are to: • Explore the implications of planning and teaching the AS Dance course • Consider new strategies to develop the technical and performance skills students are expected to achieve • Receive support for the new teacher roles as moderator, teacher and choreographer • Understand the criteria for assessment in DANC1 and DANC2 and plan a route from the outset of the course to reach DANC1 and DANC2 requirements with confidence
