Description This course is designed to support Key Stage 1 teaching staff in enhancing their understanding of computing. It will support them in developing creative approaches to engage their children. The course is aligned with the 2014 computing curriculum and for those teaching the Herts for Learning Computing Scheme, it provides an input into the six Key Stage 1 learning themes. The course will cover: - exploring, comparing and creating simple digital content including word, image and sound - algorithms and programming, including unplugged programming and working with programmable devices both physical and on-screen - starting research: developing digital searching skills - simple digital communication including email and accessing online spaces - simple data handling including using dataloggers and branching databases - understanding how to keep safe and behave appropriately in online environments
