Ideal for: Drama and theatre studies teachers who want to find out more about the theatre design process.
A one-day course exploring the process of theatre design, from initial concept to final stage production. The designer is a critical member of the creative team, providing an anchor for the audience into the particular world of each play. Tom Piper will introduce participants to his design process, giving you a deeper understanding of how a designer responds to the director's vision and the text. Participants will be given their own design task to complete during the course of the day in response to a specific text. All approaches will be transferable back into the classroom.
The course will take place in The Clore Learning Centre, Stratford-upon-Avon and include lunch, refreshments and comprehensive supporting notes.
