|Description||Join us at the University of Cambridge for our 2014 National Conference. There will be three keynote speeches from Professor Andrew Lambirth, Greenwich University and UKLA President Elect, Simon Wrigley, former Chair of NATE, and Sally Gardner, Author and Illustrator. In addition there will be 5 workshops to choose from, a wonderful children's bookshop and the UKLA bookshop. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Workshops with Marilyn Brocklehurst, Amy Newsham, Sarah Gallagher, Stuart Scott and Simon Wrigley.|

With changes to National Curriculum arrangements for Key Stages 1-4 and GCSE exam specifications, there has seldom been a more important time than now to consider opportunities for raising achievement in literacy. This exciting one-day conference offers an excellent opportunity to discuss and challenge ideas while determining how best to inspire every learner to find a voice through different approaches to literacy. The conference keynote speakers and workshop leaders bring together a wide range of expertise, experience and talent to share insights into innovative research and practical examples of high quality and creative literacy teaching. The day will provide a stimulating and enjoyable opportunity for all those working in the field of literacy across the whole 5-16 age range to reflect on practice and gather new ideas.
