The aim of WOW! Politics 2014 is to provide teaching colleagues with a collection of resources that can be used immediately in the A Level Politics classroom.
We asked a superb team of experienced and passionate Politics teachers to develop their resources for A Level Politics which would help inspire and engage students - perhaps by adopting a different approach to Politics topics than the traditional textbook style!
The result is a fantastic collection of teaching resources that we hope students will find engaging, challenging and enjoyable!
As well as using a variety of engaging learning activities to test the understanding of the general A level Politics curriculum the specific topics covered include Constitutional Reform, Voting Behaviour, British Political Institutions, US Political Institutions and election processes, Political Ideology and Theory and Political Parties in the UK and USA.
"Just a quick line to thank you all for a superb day at WOW Politics on Wednesday. The day was packed with useful, imaginative and professionally produced activities ready to use back in the classroom. I used my first activity yesterday – Guess the MP – to spark up the last section of my late afternoon, autumn double – and it worked a treat. And I’ll be working through most of the pack over the rest of the year.
"A quick note to say a big thank you for today's WOW politics. It certainly did what it says in the tin!
I have been to loads of politics inset days, this was the most useful by far. The variety, quality and imaginative ways the resource packs were put together was very impressive. As a one man band in my school Inset is all about chatting to other teachers and sharing resources to try and look for ways to improve my teaching. Today was perfect for that". - Tom Tuthill
